Palace up tomorrow for the first game in our last season at the current WHL. Our last ever first home game of the season – will you be there? Cherish the moment folks. As for me I’ll be at home in West Oxon listening on the Spurs TV broadcast and then watching on http://www.fullmstchesandshows.com. Of course part of the ground has already been dismantled in the NE corner, so it will be a White Hart Lane, the world famous home of the Spurs, that’s never seen before! I wonder if Sky Sports will have David Bentley kicking a ball from their box suite into a cement bucket or skip in the open construction site? Watch the boy blunder On You Tube
Haven’t heard confirmation that the Benteke transfer has gone through yet or not and it’s 15:30hrs now, so I suspect he won’t be in the Palace team. The whisper on NewsNow is that Cabaye will be making his season debut for Pardew’s team. Don’t like that as he is a good player going g forward. I like it when he plays against that Woolwich Mob, Cheat$ki and their ilk, but not against us. I expect Townsend to play and if he plays on the left, to have a good game and get in a few decent crosses. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if the ‘Spursy’ thing happened, just because we are Spurs, but I won’t mention what it is……….just in case.
Will be interesting to see what team the Poch puts out. Will he play the ultra defensive Dier & Wanyama combo in central midfield again and at home. When Mousa is back, which one will be dropped and by heck, didn’t we miss him up in Toffee Land. Then again, as we are at home, will he play Jannsen up front with Harry HurriKane just behind? Has Harry talked himself out of the team with his ‘not 100% fit’ claim. Will winks get the wink over Mason, Sonny Boy is back from Brazil, will he get a spot on the bench? Who will be our speed merchant, do we even have available? All these questions and more will be answered in the next episode of Spurs Soap!
Some of us will be nervous without Hugo and although Vorm is not in the Lloris class he is a competent goalie with plenty of experience behind him, so let’s not get on his back before a ball is kicked. Maybe his replacement/Back-up will be in a VIP box watching on?!
With little form to go on, my gut opinion is that Spurs will be victorious by a 2-0 score line but I am biased.
